German boot manufacturer Daytona guarantees top of the bill motorcycle boots. Handmade, detailed, high-tech and 100% waterproof thanks to the integrated GORE-TEX® membrane.
The Trans Open GTX is aimed at adventurous motorcyclists with enduro ambitions. The shaft height of 34 centimetres guarantees plenty of protection, and the steel toe guards at the end of the robust (enduro) sole give you the necessary stability in all conditions.
Daytona is synonymous with top quality and also manages to make it fit perfectly. The 2.8 mm thick, cowhide leather Trans Open GTX can be opened almost up to the sole, on both sides. This assures you - despite the high shaft - of a very smooth and quick entry. You close the boot by means of two zippers which are tucked away behind velcro strips. At the back, extra Velcro pieces offer you the possibility to fit the Trans Open GTX to perfection.
Inside, the well constructed boot pretty much regulates the climate itself, within the double boot construction. Sweaty feet are therefore not included in the price, although you would expect that from this kind of boot. On the contrary: the Trans Open GTX is as comfortable as a slipper, so yes, you can do the last few meters on foot. Well placed accordion pieces on the heel and in front of the ankle emphasize this.
The shin gets a big protector, just like the ankles. Heel and toes are extra reinforced and all that doesn't bother you at all inside. Switch reinforcement is of course standard. The steel toe protectors are intended to give flying stones no chance.
Daytona remains true to a number of fixed values: comfort on and off the bike, a long lifespan, pronounced strength and durability in extreme conditions and the use of top materials. Moreover, you can always count on excellent after-sales service from the German manufacturer.
A steep price for a sturdy boot, that's right. Although you might not need to buy one for the first five years.
