High-quality, heat-resistant paint for treated and untreated surfaces that are exposed to very high temperatures. This paint is not suitable for plastic fairing parts. Heat resistant, with excellent adhesion and resistant to petrol, chemicals and harsh weather, this matte black lacquer is ideal for painting exhausts.
Instructions for use
Carefully read the instructions on the
packaging before use.
Pre-treatment
The surface must be clean, dry and degreased. Remove loose paint and rust, and lightly sand the surface. Do not apply a primer.
Painting
Bring the spray can to room temperature. Ideal application temperature is 15 to 25°C. Shake the aerosol can for two minutes before use and spray a sample. Distance to the surface to be treated must be approximately 25 to 30 centimetre.
Apply the heat resistant paint in several thin layers. Before applying the next layer, shake the aerosol can again. Let the layer of paint dry for one hour at room temperature. Then heat for 30 to 60 minutes (160°C) to cure the paint. Smoke is emitted from the paint during the curing process. Paint curing is done professionally by baking the parts for 30 to 60 minutes at 160°C. A good alternative is a motorcycle ride of the same duration. During the ride, the exhaust muffler and exhaust pipes heat up to at least that temperature. After use, clean the valve by holding the spray can upside down and pressing the nozzle for approx. 5 seconds. The drying time depends on the ambient temperature, the air humidity and the thickness of the layer applied.
