The inside of these metric locknuts has a specific nylon coating, which prevents the bolt from running from the nut through vibration. The high quality, stainless steel from which they are made, guarantees a long life.

For your information, you should use this type of nut only once as a proper lock nut. You don't have to throw them out though, because it is still perfectly useable as a regular nut. Also, you can secure them with screw locking compound.
