The MRS link is a type of closing link used to close open motorcycle chains. This type of link is always equipped with hollow pins with a copper head. For assembly, the side plate must first be pressed over the pins. Then the heads of the pins have to be pushed open with a conical point to keep the side plates from sliding off. The use of a riveting tool is recommended.
When fitting the locking links, it is essential to thoroughly lubricate the shafts, the bushings and the O-rings or X-rings of the chain with the provided packet of grease, to prevent stiff links, premature wear or even chain breakage.
After lubricating, place the connecting link with the X- or O-rings onto the chain and press it down evenly to evenly distribute the grease.
After thorough lubrication, the closing link can be closed with the side plate. To avoid crushing the seals, use appropriate tools and measure the distance with a caliper to measure the distance between the outer plates of the other links and those of the locking link. Gradually press the side plate into its final position (see sketch):

When the side plate is in place, first check that the connecting link rotates freely and is not pressed too tightly or too loosely. Only then may the link be riveted. Use a conical tip for this.
Use suitable tools for the supplied locking link. Our chains are supplied with master links selected according to the application and the power of the motorcycle.
