The Shoei Hornet ADV is especially designed for the demanding all-road and adventure motorcyclist.
Like all Shoei helmets, the Hornet ADV is very well-thought-out and suitable for both on and off-road, even in all weather conditions. The outer shell is constructed from layers of different types of premium glass fiber with resin as a binding agent. The result is a light but strong outer shell which, in combination with the EPS inner shell, provides very high impact absorption. Adapted to the different helmet sizes Shoei provides no less than four different sizes of outer shells. This makes each Hornet ADV in any size as compact and as light as possible.
The easily removable sun visor has an aerodynamic shape and creates downward pressure at high speeds. Other helmets with sun visors tend to put more strain on the neck, which is not the case with the Hornet ADV. Both the cheek pads and the 3D center pad are removable and washable. Both are made of comfortable and quality materials for an excellent fit. Importantly, the cheek pads feature a red emergency strip, making them easy to remove from the helmet in the event of an accident.
The helmet features very good ventilation with three inlets in the front and six outlets in the back. The CNS-2 visor also has a draught-setting to let fresh air in. Because the visor is quite wide and high, the rider has an excellent field of vision. A Pinlock anti-fog film is included in the box, as well as a kit of reflective stickers that are mandatory in France. The EPS inner shell has cutouts for the placement of intercom speakers. A removable nose cap and removable chin guard are part of the Hornet ADV's standard equipment. The helmet features a secure Double-D ring buckle for a perfect adjustment of the chinstrap.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. To clean the interior (without removing it) you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. A treatment on the outside of the visor with Rain-X anti-rain spray improves visibility during rain showers.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches or dullness cause blinding reflections from streetlights and oncoming headlights. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a worn visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
