The Alpinestars New Land is a low, waterproof motorcycle boot with a shaft height of about 15 centimetres. Both during that long trip to the South as for short, daily use, this is a much praised, user-friendly boot. For those who don't want a high motorcycle boot, but still want more than an ordinary shoe.
With some (good or bad) will you can see an ankle-high shoe in this, but the New Land is definitely a full-fledged all-round touring boot. With a new shape and better ergonomics, it is even one of the comfortable kinds. Never make a judgement based on first impressions, then. The New Land gives just as much confidence and stability during long rides, as ease of use for short trips.
The exterior consists of full grain leather. At the back, the long accordion zone and cut-away at the level of the tendon catch the eye. At the front you get the same accordion strip and when you add both up, you know that this is a very agile and comfortable boot. In the details - ventilation at the back of the heel - you see the racing roots of Alpinestars, although much of the technology is literally underneath, in the form of optimal and high-quality protection on heel, toe, ankle and shin. The New Land is a constant balancing act between agility, comfort and safety, with each of the three being at a high level.
Equally invisible are all the efforts made in terms of ergonomics. The sole, the anatomical and removable footbed, the nicely finished and comfortable lining that goes all the way up to the shaft, it's all there. Add to that, the waterproof and breathable qualities of the integrated membrane and you know: this is a top boot.
Light, comfortable, with a vulcanised sole and shifting reinforcement, this is a low boot for everyday use. Getting in and out of the boot is easy thanks to the double velcro fastener.
