Pinlock 120/EVO
A lens which is called Pinlock 120 is the top of the line when it comes to anti-fog properties. Pinlock calls it "Top of the line" and "the solution for professionals". In motorcycle terms this means: MotoGP, WSBK, TT on Man. Most motorcycle racers also use a Pinlock 120 lens in other, lesser known, races to be sure that they always have perfect vision.
Pinlock is the brand name which has become synonymous with any lens having these characteristics, something which very few manufacturers are able to achieve and which usually says a lot about the quality. This extra lens - slightly smaller than the visor - is made of a special, moisture-absorbing plastic and works like double glazing: silicone sealing on the Pinlock creates an insulating layer of air which prevents fogging.
However, there is no such thing as "the" Pinlock as the manufacturer offers three levels of protection, each one better than the other, coded 30, 70 and 120. These codes are based on tests done in laboratories and are not very useful for the practical rider.
It is important to know that 120 is the top level. There is nothing today that can offer better features than a Pinlock 120 when it comes to clear visors in all conditions.
