This plastic cap usually protects the lock of an aluminum Outback top case. Every new Outback is equipped with it, but as everybody knows: on the road, on campsites or on a trip something gets lost and usually it's not the entire top case. It is that little plastic cap. Annoying.
Especially because that same cap actually prevents water and dirt from the rear wheel getting into the lock, with all the - again - annoying consequences. With this, you can easily replace it with a brand new one.
