The Alpinestars SP-5 is a sporty and lightweight glove up to the wrist. Clearly visible are the perforated leather surfaces that benefit ventilation. Ventilation and waterproofing rarely go together and the thin but soft lining betrays it: this is a summer glove.
On the outside, the SP-5 has been manufactured in perforated goat and synthetic leather, which increases comfort and durability, as well as ventilation and a constant air flow. The inner side is strategically equipped with PU leather on the palm and thumb, to ensure maximum grip. Stretch fabric between the palm and thumb increases freedom of movement and allows for optimal control and operation of the bike. The elaborate design in different types of leather provides a lot of comfort, without compromising on wear resistance and protection.
Extra suede reinforcements are provided at critical places, as well as foam rubber reinforcements on fingers and palm. It is difficult to look beyond the fixed plastic (polymer) knuckle protectors. A (patented) finger bridge between the ring finger and the little finger and a fingertip that makes it possible to work on a touch screen are details that accentuate the glove's high quality. External stitching and anatomically contoured fingers, for their part, emphasise wearer comfort.
The wrist closure is made of elastic velcro and ensures a personalised fit. Reflection increases visibility in the evening and at night.
