To remove all doubt: SMX-2 Air Carbon V2 are summer gloves. That means: well ventilated. Safety, and therefore wear resistance, is not compromised. Water-resistance, of course, is. Not waterproof, but very safe. It is a nice compromise and even more so because the goatskin leather base still has the upper hand. The palm is extra reinforced, as well as the side and the thumb. Grip is a certainty and - because these are thin summer gloves - the feedback coming from the bike is clear.
A bit of sensibly placed padding is always a bonus, but in the case of the SMX-2 Air Carbon V2, it's the hard carbon knuckle protector that gets the most attention. Visually, it's still beautiful and - more importantly - it gives structure and strength to these motorcycle gloves.
SMX-2 Air Carbon V2 motorcycle gloves are not hand warmers. On the contrary, they are well ventilated, courtesy of serious pieces of 3D mesh. Especially the back of the hand and the top of the fingers receive more than enough wind. An additional cooling effect is created by the very short - almost absent - cuff, which you can tighten with a velcro strap (plastic).
