Affordable. Comfortable. Sporty. The SMX-S were already ideal street boots for the sporty biker, and in this version they are also waterproof. You can't get much more than that, and certainly not at such a competitive price.
The striking accordion panels at the front and back provide optimal freedom of movement on and off the bike. Control is also improved. The air outlet on the heel shows its additional ventilating properties and illustrates how the SMX-S pedigree has started somewhere on a race track. Something Alpinestars never tries to hide anyway, so you'll see a lot of sporty elements.
Still, these boots are more geared towards day-to-day, comfortable use. The boots are equipped with integrated ankle and shin protection. Both the inside and outside of the ankle are reinforced with TPU. There is no ankle brace to prevent twisting, which might make them a little less track-loving. Reinforcements on the sole and toe are obvious, just like the stylish shifting reinforcement on both boots and the replaceable plastic toe slider.
Made of durable and breathable (patented and new) microfiber material, this boot offers great value for money in the form of strength and comfort. A removable anatomical footbed with EVA and lycra especially enhance the latter. The Alpinestars exclusive rubber compound sole offers improved water drainage and good grip.
The large (side) entry makes it easy for almost everyone to get into the boot. Opening and closing is done by means of a zipper and velcro system for optimal fit. The puller of the zipper can be attached inside the boot, so it is not in the way.
Reflective material increases your visibility in the evening and at night.
You can combine this boot with a full race suit or with (motor)jeans.
