Modeka's Black Rider is a summery, high and very competitively priced motorcycle shoe. Certified, conforming to legal requirements (ankle-high) and equally good to wear without the immediate presence of a motorcycle.
Urban, black. In terms of appearance, it's good. The Black Rider fits in easily anywhere and can be worn all day. The exterior consists of cowhide leather and large areas of perforated leather. The latter provides excellent ventilation and comfort. Downside is of course that you cannot jump in every puddle with the Black Rider without getting wet feet.
There are no visible protectors, but the ankle has a built-in reinforcement. Toe and heel protection meet what you may expect from a motorcycle shoe. All the high-risk zones received an extra layer of leather, which of course enhances durability. The shift reinforcement is about the only pronounced element that gives away that this is a motorcycle shoe, although it is present on both shoes.
The sole is made of oil- and petrol-resistant material. Opening and closing the Black Rider is done with velcro and laces.
There is maintenance clothing and then there is clothing maintenance. Good, solid motorcycle clothing is an investment in comfort and personal safety. So invest in its maintenance after your purchase and enjoy your gear for longer.
