The Modeka Midtown is a good motorcycle shoe that can be worn all day. Lots of protection in an inconspicuous design and available in different colors. Both on and off the bike the Midtown is a good shoe to wear. The combination with a good pair of jeans seems obvious.
As long as it's not raining, this is a very comfortable motorcycle shoe. Made of 100% cowhide leather, with perforated panels for excellent ventilation and a nice, soft lining, you can walk around all day in this shoe. It is not 100% waterproof. Spring, summer, autumn, for many bikers this will not be a problem.
Although this is a flexible shoe, the crucial - and most vulnerable - places are protected. Toes, heel and ankle got a noticeable robustness. The Midtown has a height of about 15 centimeters but a lower cut back allows for great dexterity. There is also a shift reinforcement, although the double layer of leather isn't even that noticeable. It makes sure you can carry the Midtown perfectly next to the bike. Opening and closing is done by means of laces. A rubber sole with non-slip tread keeps you firmly on your legs or footrests.
The higher the fashion level - and the level of ‘we don’t really look like motorcycle shoes’-, the smaller the chance your leather shoes have a full-fledged shifting reinforcement. No problem on a scooter but on a motorbike, the multitude of shifting will quickly cause wear and tear. A shame of the leather shoes because this “wear and tear” will not often be incorporated in the warranty conditions.
