The Andes V2 Drystar is the logical next step in the evolution of the Alpinestars Andes: a fully equipped touring boot. Long distances and all kinds of weather, bring it on.
The exterior made of reinforced cowhide leather is comfortable, made to last and durable. The integrated Drystar membrane is Alpinestars' weapon of choice against water and moisture, and has an impressive track record. Breathable and waterproof, as you would expect from a high-performance touring boot.
Apart from the - by Alpinestars standards actually discrete - star with the letter 'a' on the shin, it is mainly the elaborate accordion patches that attract the most attention. You'll find them both at the front and the back and there's a reason for that: linking maximum sturdiness to a wide freedom of movement.
The Andes V2 closes very easily with a half-high zipper, of which you fix the zipper underneath the overlapping velcro. The instep is wide and at the top the boot fits well on the calf. If these are on the narrow side, you can tighten the two-part velcro a little more.
Internally, both toes and heel are protected in their own way. Safe and structural, without losing all feeling. A double TPU ankle protection protects the most vulnerable part of your lower limbs, while the shock-resistant synthetic shin protector - also incorporated in the leather - protects you a little better during impact.
The result is a comfortable and safe touring boot to conquer heavy showers. Discrete reflective material at the back, a removable and anatomical EVA-footbed and the sole of vulcanized rubber make this a versatile, high quality and strong motor boot, to ride around Europe without problems.
