Hands and fingers probably suffer the most in harsh conditions. While riding a motorcycle, these are also the body parts you need the most in order to safely arrive at your destination.
The Oxford Premium Hotgrips are the result of thirty years of development, a constant search for the best solution to keep hands warm in the worst conditions. There is this 'Touring'-version, but there are also versions (adventure, sports, retro, ATV, cruiser) that focus on different riding styles.
Besides being warm and toasty, the Sport grips are ergonomic and soft. The diamond-shaped pattern on the entire surface provides a very good grip and while allowing to feel the feedback from the bike. The cable connection is integrated in the grip, ensuring a durable yet discreet appearance. Handlebar design fits most sportsbikes (length and diameter), although it's relatively easy to trim them. The grips have a length of 123 mm, with an open end to allow the mounting of handlebar weights or handguards. That length is easily trimmed, to 114 mm, should you so desire. Power consumption is less than 4A per pair.
A weatherproof handlebar-mounted control unit provides easy control and monitoring of the heat settings. You know at a glance which of the five possible settings is currently engaged. Should you forget to switch them off at the end of your trip - in your eagerness to get inside where it's warm and dry - the Hotgrips Premium will have your back, thanks to the 'Battery Saving Mode'. There's no need to fit an extra relay either, as this handlebar heater only switches on when there's enough power available to do so; in general that is the case when the engine is running.
Mounting and installing the Premium Hotgrips is easy. Just connect them to the battery and smoothly slide the grips on the handlebars, and you're ready to go. Everything you need for this - including the metal base for the controller - is included in the package.
It's obvious, we think, that you should read through the instruction booklet before installing them, and that heated grips don't make riding gloves redundant.
