Its predecessor (Poseidon GTX without serial number) was the world's first 3-layer GORE-TEX pants with exceptional ventilation properties. This does not make the Poseidon GTX - with serial number - a first, but an improved version. Oh yes, and Poseidon was the Greek god of the sea, although these pants are primarily designed to keep water out.
The insulating, removable thermal inner lining provides comfort and warmth, while the outer shell features laminated GORE-TEX. ‘Laminated' means attached to the outer fabric. In two and three layers, depending on the location. An added benefit of laminated membranes is that the pants never absorb water, which make them always light and comfortable, plus they dry quickly. The 2L and 3L GORE-TEX used takes this a level higher. The basic fabric is abrasion-resistant 400D, supplemented by polyester rib and PWR|shell 500D stretch. So, a lot, and everything is geared towards optimal wear resistance, a long lifespan and excellent protection. Just like the jacket, the pants feature the innovative VCS | aquadefence system with the FidLock® magnetic closure for optimal ventilation. The 'gutter' around the ventilation opening prevents water from getting in.
But beware: the strong magnets do not go well with pacemakers, so ask for advice when in doubt.
The standard provided SEEFLEX CE-level 2 knee protectors (in adjustable pockets) and the SEESMART CE hip protectors, make this a pair of trousers that score high in terms of impact protection and wearing comfort. Expertly applied reflective strips increase visibility in dark conditions.
Anti-slip material on the seat ensures that the wearer remains properly seated. The pant legs open at the bottom with a mid-length zipper. Velcro strips ensure a perfectly adaptable fit, over or inside the motorcycle boot. A higher back of the pants guarantees that the back remains covered even when sitting in a sporty position.
The Poseidon 2 is equipped to attach the Strapper suspenders. With a long and short connection zipper this is - apart from being a top pair of pants - the ideal combination for the Poseidon 2 GTX jacket.
