The Vertex GT can be combined effortlessly with any leather jacket, although the eponymous motorcycle jacket will probably be preferred. With 'GT' in the title, you know that the complete set - together or separately - combines optimal protection with a sporty look and lots of comfort.
Both the Vertex GT jacket and pants are clearly a sporty cut. Think 'two-piece racing suit', although that would be a bit short of the Vertex GT. This is sporty touring quality or pure racing all in one.
The exterior consists of a combination of Monaco Performance cowhide and a PWR shell in 500D stretch. This results in robust leather pants that are pleasantly elastic on the back and inseams (legs and crotch). The high degree of comfort and freedom of movement are a logical consequence. With a soft lining (mesh), the general wearing comfort is on a level which is rather exceptional for race-oriented pants. The accordion fabric above the knee and at the back emphasizes this. The partially perforated outer layer also allows for a certain amount of driving wind on warm days, although you have to remain realistic in this respect of course.
The downside? Leather and waterproofing. Racing and waterproofing. It is still a difficult combination. Although there's nothing that can't be solved with a good pair of rain pants. The half-length zipper at the back of the legs makes putting them on easy. To racing standards.
The Vertex GT is equipped with SEEFLEX™ Level 2 CE knee protectors and SEESMART™ CE Level 1 Type B protectors on the hips. And you are race pants or you aren't: dual-compound knee pads (type A) are present, evidently. They are traditionally attached with velcro.
To close the Vertex GT, REV'IT uses the hook-and-button fastener, which cannot open spontaneously. There are no adjustment options at the waist, although two wide elastic inserts provide some degree of flexibility.
The double (long and short) connection zipper at the back allows for a combination with a jacket of your choice from the REV'IT range, although it seems obvious that in this case the eponymous Vertex GT should be in pole position.
