Robert LeRoy Parker, a notorious American train robber, bank robber and leader of the Wild Bunch, went down in history as Butch Cassidy and he would have no doubt appreciated these waterproof mid-season gloves.
They carry contemporary features, but hide it effortlessly in the retro style that Segura loves. Pay particular attention to the hand-stitched trim on the cuff, which adds an extra touch and, in our minds, brings us a little closer to Cassidy. Butch, that is.
Anyway, the Cassidy, which just covers the wrist, has some nice perks. Note the inscription on the thumb and the spider web on the other side. The chance that these will actually be on there, is small though, because you probably won't leave the Cassidy for weeks in your closet untouched.
With a goatskin leather shell, a waterproof and breathable membrane underneath and a third layer consisting of a 110g lining, your hands are well protected. Plus, you never have the feeling that it's too much of a good thing. Mid-season, that means that the climate can change, although you want to keep a comfortable steering feel. The Cassidy seems to have found that delicate balance. You'll notice enough accordion material on both the fingers and the back of the hand to make sure that - even when you're clamping the handlebars - you're on the road in a pleasant way.
The Cassidy is CE-approved as a personal protection equipment and has a solid plastic knuckle protector underneath. The palm is additionally equipped with leather and padding.
An elastic band under the hand, just at the wrist, closes the gloves, and with three push buttons at the same height, you keep it all nicely in place.
