The Origin Drystar is a waterproof touring boot. It looks like leather, but is constructed of hard-wearing and sturdy microfiber, which guarantees a long life and a light weight.
The Origin: the name says it all. Did Alpinestars develop similar, classic looking motorcycle boots afterwards, that just play a level higher? Yes, but that is not the point. The point is, what do you expect price-quality-wise from a motorcycle boot, the way you use it. And then the Origin scores very high. By the way, don't be fooled: for an original the Origin is quite well-equipped with new and innovative elements. Even the entire shape of the boot is new, to be better and more ergonomic.
Wear- and tear-resistant, robust yet agile thanks to the accordion linings at the front and back, the comfort level of the Origin Drystar is already quite high. Especially when combined with the Drystar membrane, which provides a waterproof and breathable whole. And all that in a neutral look, so you can actually combine this boot with just about any motorcycle outfit.
Impact protection is applied underneath the leather, in all vulnerable areas: toes, heel and ankle. The shifting reinforcement that you may expect from a motorcycle boot is applied both on the left and the right side of the boot, which enhances symmetry.
Getting in and out of the boot goes smoothly. The inside of the boot opens almost over the entire length with a zipper. Everything is, once closed, neatly protected by wide velcro strips. The removable EVA-foam footbed provides extra comfort while riding and walking. Walking, indeed. The Origin may look robust and solid, but this is a comfortable and pleasant boot. The sole is vulcanized for more grip and durability.
