It's not surprising that the base is 1.3mm thick cowhide. It remains the standard solution for extraordinary tear and abrasion resistant motorbike pants. There is something to be said about the waterproofing, but those who choose a pair of pants like these, usually attach less importance to that. A few drops won't hurt.
The main thing is that it fits well. Accordion strips above the knee provide flexibility, and the rear of the Track V2 neatly overlaps with just about any motorcycle jacket. The fact that the whole thing is preformed seems logical and ensures that fatigue is postponed. Large stretch panels on the calves guarantee that it always remains 'tight in the suit', in this case the pants. On the waist you have adjustment possibilities to make sure that this feeling goes everywhere. Closing them is done by means of a sturdy press button.
The inside of the pants consists of mesh fabric, supplemented with stretch. The latter is combined with the outer stretch zones, which gives you optimal freedom of movement.
Of course, you expect the necessary impact protection from a pair of shorts of this calibre. The Track V2 does not disappoint in this respect. The dual density TPU knee pads and the externally attached Alpinestars kneesliders are easy to replace. Both the knees and the seat got a specific internal construction to provide extra protection. You also get a pair of GP-R knee protectors and a pair of level 1 CE-approved Nucleon hip protectors. Optionally, you can replace them with level 2 CE protectors.
Overarchingly, Alpinestars integrated the DFS - Dynamic Friction Shield - for perfect abrasion resistance that gives the pants complete CE-certification. Technically this is called: Category II prEN17092 draft standards - AAA class.
