A motorcycle hoodie is just as much a style choice as it is a form of protective motorcycle clothing. This Nuclone from Macna can bring some nice assets to the table and lends itself perfectly for everything that smells of casual, customs and café racers.
But don't let this trinity limit you. The advantage of a hoodie - also a motorcycle one like this one - is that you can more or less choose for yourself what, where and how. Just put it on and go. In safe circumstances, because although the outer shell consists of sturdy cotton, you can just as well count on reinforcements in aramid. Aramid is wear- and tear-resistant and especially in the form of Kevlar a tried and tested material that is commonly used in motorcycle clothing. In this Nuclone you will find it mainly on the shoulders, elbows and back, not coincidentally the most vulnerable areas.
To be clear: a hoodie is and remains summer clothing, with a lot more protection than the average shirt in your closet. It's not waterproof, so no membranes and no ventilation zippers. What you see is what you get and that is the fast, smooth, easy, accessible advantage of this motorcycle clothing.
There are standard Betac protectors on the elbows and shoulders to protect you in case of a fall. Don't be startled when you take the Nuclone off the coat rack: there is some weight to it. That's for sure. It is still motorcycle clothing. Especially with this optional back protector in the compartment provided for that purpose, the integrated Coat hanger is no superfluous luxury.
The rib trim as well as the central zip (full length) are sturdy and robust. Inside, the mesh lining catches the eye. It provides a 'healthy climate’, it keeps your body dry and warm.
You get two pockets with zipper. And two 'cord ducts’ to guide the drawstring of the hood down and to prevent them from slapping your face halfway through the ride. The hood is not detachable, but the Hoody holder at the back keeps everything neatly in place.
At the bottom there is a Belt Loop to attach the Nuclon to the belt in your jeans.
There is maintenance clothing and then there is clothing maintenance. Good, solid motorcycle clothing is an investment in comfort and personal safety. So invest in its maintenance after your purchase and enjoy your gear for longer.
