Textile, lots of customization possibilities, zippers and pockets ... At first sight, the Eloy is a pure touring jacket, although it's short and clearly sporty. It's a matter of finding the right balance and Modeka seems to have found it. Also when it comes to price and quality.
Modeka aims at riders who like a sporty style. A short cut, for this versatile and waterproof jacket that gives you a lot of extra visibility at night, without showing too much during the day. The exterior is made of 500D polyamide, which is a clear choice for tear and abrasion resistant properties. Rightly so when we talk about a motorcycle jacket. The 500D remains 'manageable': you never have the feeling that this is a rigid, stiff shell.
Inside you'll find two removable layers, which makes this 3-in-1 a very complete and versatile jacket. The waterproof membrane is - Modeka's own - Hitex®, which is both breathable and waterproof. The thermo lining gives you extra comfort when temperatures reach the basement. The reverse is also possible, because the Eloy has an Air Vent System in the form of zippered ventilation slots. Six in total and you can recognize them by the fluorescent yellow mesh that appears when you open them. All together this results in a construction that can serve you from January till December.
A soft collar, a sturdy outer zipper and quite a few adjustment options: it would have to be very strange for the Eloy not to feel comfortable. On the arms and the waist you can play around with the measurements and because this is in the first place supposed to be 'short and sporty', that's more than enough. The sleeve ends got a velcro strip, on the outer collar Modeka chooses for a good, adjustable press button. With no less than six inner pockets (two per layer), you have a lot of storage space. Especially when you know that there are also two zippered pockets on the outside.
Of course, impact protection has been thought of as well. Elbows and
shoulders are standard and EN 1621-1: 2012, CE certified. A SAS-TEC back
protector SC-1/11 can be fitted optionally.
3M® Scotchlite is the supplier
of choice when it comes to reflective material. A good choice of course, and you
notice that immediately when visibility leaves something to be desired. The Eloy
got reflective stripes and logos just about everywhere. They're not very
noticeable during the day, but they do a great job at night.
This Eloy Jacket forms a perfect combination with the Modeka Baxters pants. Thanks to the connecting zipper you can quickly create one unit.
