Those who call their products 'heritage' link respect for tradition to contemporary functionality. The Heritage collection is retro, and yet it is not.
The Heritage 30L is a complementary package with the side bags of the same name, but is of course also perfectly usable on its own. Khaki, with prominent straps and buckles, in typical British cotton with a dry wax finish, this roll bag never looks out of place on any retro, custom, classic, chopper or café racer. On a GSX or Fireblade, we wouldn't do that ourselves, but of course everyone is free to choose.
Anyway, with a removable, waterproof lining inside the bag, you can be sure that your luggage will stay dry, whatever bike you ride. The orange color of that lining contrasts with the khaki and rugged Heritage exterior, which is a nod to a time when sailcloth was pretty much the best outdoor material. The wax layer is everywhere, even on the straps, but has the advantage that it stays there - the dry variety - and doesn't get on your hands, jacket or pants. The Oxford sense of tradition translates into details such as the 'flag' seams and the traditional roll closure of the bags. The leather finish where needed and the metal-colored buckles, rings and hooks give the whole thing a sturdy and very solid look, something the Heritage 30L is actually quite right about.
The storage space consists of one large waterproof compartment. Roll it up and close it with two extra straps and buckles, it's still a good guarantee for dry stuff. A smaller - zippered and buttoned - front compartment leaves some extra options open.
For the attachment to the bike Oxford also goes back to tradition: a transverse strap, sturdy and with velcro, allows you to build in some safety from under the saddle. Additional straps (with Double-D ring) can be attached at will.
With a capacity of 30 liters - plenty of room - and the fact that with a handle and a padded shoulder strap you can also travel with it off the bike, you know that for this price you'll go a long way.
