The Abus Granit XPlus 540 is a sturdy shackle lock. With an ART certification of three stars, you best keep the key at hand. You won't be able open this one with a hairpin.
Of course, every lock can be opened, but this D-lock doesn't make it easy.
The basis of the Abus Granit XPlus 540 is a thick bar. Abus added a locking system that makes it virtually impossible to open it without a key. We have quite a bit of confidence in this D-lock. Whoever gets discouraged by the lock and double locking mechanism and starts looking for the weak spot, they'll have to face the shackle, which is made of 16 mm thick tempered steel.
The available inner space is 30 cm. The width is just under 11 cm. Roughly motorbike tyre sizes, in other words. Just to be sure, these measurements apply to the space between the brackets. The total circumference is a lot larger, which also means that you can't bring this big boy along in your coat pocket.
This is why Givi created a M6M Monolock case plate with recesses that easily allow you to store this D-lock on the rear of the motorcycle, just so you have it at hand anytime you need it.
The keys - one with LED lighting - come with a specific code for ordering a new one if one is lost.
