With these laminated motorcycle pants, Modeka joins the higher - and above all very reliable - market segment of lightweight, comfortable touring combinations. The Viper LT is a versatile touring companion and shares that name with its matching motorcycle jacket.
The Viper LT, which is laminated with Tactel® and a Humax® membrane, is without doubt one of the best waterproof jackets on the market. Laminated pants prevent water from getting in, and dry much faster after a shower. ‘Like water from a duck', they say. And in contrast to many other laminated pants - which find it hard to hide that extra layer - the Viper LT remains a very flexible and pleasant pair.
Laminated pants are more suited to the tougher conditions. The standard is waterproofing, so the other extreme - scorching hot and sunny - is a bit more difficult. The Viper LT does have a good option with AirVent openings (with zipper), but to ride all the way to the south of Spain with it in July or August, that's something else. No, then the North Cape seems better suited to us, because the thermal lining - removable - is of high quality. Also note the DuPont™ Kevlar® material that protects your calves from heat radiating from the bike.
It all goes to show that the Viper LT was built with attention to detail. A host of adjustment options (three snaps on upper and lower legs) allow you to play around a bit, but get it right the first time. Tight. The waist is largely elastic and you can vary with the necessary velcro loops. Closed is closed, as it should be: zipper, velcro, slider and push button, the chance that your pants open 'suddenly' is non-existent. At the bottom, the half-length zippers make it easier to get in and out, even with motorcycle boots on your feet.
The Viper LT offers more than enough storage space: two front pockets and a cargo pocket left and right.
SAS-TEC® provides the necessary impact protection. CE-approved protectors on knees (level 2) and hips (level 1) are standard. Reflective material is obviously present. Not so conspicuous during the day, all the safer in the evening and at night.
The Viper LT trousers are part of a combination, and it goes without saying that the jacket of the same name fits seamlessly with it.
The suspenders are easily removable, should you wish to do so.
