This is one of the best that Modeka has to offer at the moment and that corresponds to just about the best there is on the market today.
The Talismen (this motorcycle jacket, there are also motorcycle pants with that name) is a milestone for Modeka, although others will frown on it too. It is all of high quality and the finishing level is really high. Starting with the exterior of this textile jacket in typical touring cut: the combination of tear- and abrasion-resistant polyamide, ironclad DuPont™ Kevlar® and a lot of elasticity. As in: this feels tight and good.
A 100% water and windproof Sympatex® membrane keeps you dry, without compromising breathability properties. The waterproof membrane can be zipped off when needed, just like the lined jacket that protects you from cold temperatures. The latter is finished in such a way that it is perfectly wearable without the rest of the jacket. The Talismen will not let you down when temperatures soar: with AirDraft (ventilation panels with magnets), AirBoost (the ventilation panel on the back) and AirVent (traditional zippered vents) there are actually three different ventilation systems on board.
This motorcycle jacket can take on a lot, this should be clear.
There are still plenty of opportunities for individual adjustment, although the high degree of stretch ensures that this feels like a second skin. But you can still count on adjustable straps on upper and lower arms, a flexible collar with push button and the possibility to center the Talismen by means of velcro.
There's little chance of using every pocket available. Side pockets, storage pockets, inner pockets, with or without membrane and lining, even the zippered space on the left forearm is - euh - spacious. At the back, the typical touring rucksack is the ideal storage place for membranes and/or motorcycle gloves.
SAS-TEC® provides the necessary impact protection. The shoulders, elbows and back are all standard equipped with CE-approved protectors. Chest protectors are optional. Reflective material is obviously present. Not so conspicuous during the day, all the safer in the evening and at night.
This Talismen Jacket forms a perfect combination with the Modeka Talismen pants. Thanks to the connecting zipper you can quickly create one unit.
