Modeka, now with over thirty years of experience, likes to offer a competitive price with a serious package of benefits in return. The Sporting III - clearly an evolution on that chosen path - does not disappoint on any level.
These are motorcycle pants which, with a little luck, can be used between 1 January and 30 December. On the last day of the year, you can give the bike a rest. The front (the outside) consists of 500D and 600D polyamide: wear and tear resistant materials that are indispensable when we talk about modern motorcycle clothing. You can also add a Kevlar heat shield on the calf, and you know that the Sporting III is going to be an ambitious start of the year, on the first day of January.
There is one small 'but': you're on your own if the temperatures between 1/1 and 31/12 suddenly take a serious dive because there is no extra (removable) thermal padding. Is that a problem? Look at the price, look at all the other qualities and think about how often you will need extra thermal lining in your pants.
A (removable) waterproof Humax® membrane and zippered ventilation offer a solution for just about every possible climatic challenge. Humax® is Modeka's house brand when it comes to waterproofing. The direct ventilation zippers, which go by the same name as the AirVent system are no stranger to those who have already worn a Modeka motorcycle jacket or pants.
Add to that some accordion panels, enough stretch to keep it very comfortable, anti-slip material where it is useful and quite a few individual adjustment possibilities (velcro on waist and lower legs) and it becomes clear: the total package, at this price ... absolutely fine. Two outer pockets provide the storage space you expect. A 2-in-1 like this, benefits from a classic, not too specific style. A lot can happen in a year. What always makes sense: reflective material and a double closure that you can't go wrong with when you're on the road.
The protective material is also very good. Modeka likes to work with SAS-TEC, and that is far from a bad choice: the CE-level 1 protectors on the knee are standard and adjustable in height, while the SAS-TEC, CE-level 2 hip protectors are optional.
The connecting zippers (long and short) allow you to create a temporary combination with virtually any Modeka's range of jackets.
