Modeka gets their 'name' mustard for quality leather motorcycle jackets clearly from the Caribbean Sea because apart from 'the Nevis', this (Saint) Vincent too is both: top coat and island. The rest of this text is about the leather quality coat.
The leather in question is smooth high quality cowhide leather. Leather as leather should be, actually. Where sensible, the Vincent has been given extra layers to transform critical crash zones into a tear and wear resistant whole. All that leather has to 'settle' a bit to the body it is placed around, but after that it becomes a second home. Modeka succeeds in making the Vincent feel good: robust, solid, protective and yet very natural and comfortable. It delivers the necessary technical credentials, in the form of a CE certificate. This is complemented by SW shoulder and elbow protectors (level 2, 1621-1:2012) and when you add that up you can feel - to begin with, the weight on the coat rack - that the Vincent is a motorcycle jacket which also figuratively puts a lot of weight on the scale.
Stretch - in the form of a leather elastic accordion construction - ensures the Vincent fits. Full stop. A class act. Short cuts, lots of snaps, sturdy zippers ... rock 'n roll in motorcycle format. Logically, a custom or café racer would fit this, but anything goes. And in all circumstances. A pair of ventilation zippers at chest level and on the back for wind, while a removable thermal jacket does just the opposite. Versatile, that's what it's called. Suppose that the temperatures do skyrocket, then the Vincent has another trump card: You can close the front zipper 'normally', or you can choose the second option and use the vented flap as an intermediate piece, which creates extra ventilation over the entire length.
The soft textile finishing on the inside of the collar shows that 'comfort' was an important factor in the design. Four pockets, two inner and two outer, provide storage space, even though you know not to want to store half your household in tight leathers.
The Vincent is a jacket you can wear just like that, without a motorcycle around. Style dominates and - to be honest - it all feels very good. You get away with it.
You wear the Vincent almost naturally in combination with a pair of motorcycle jeans. Hence the Belt Loop.
