The IXS Pacora ST is a 2-in-1 touring jacket, made of durable Tactel®. The waterproof solto-TEX® membrane is non-removable and has breathable qualities.
The outer layer in Tactel® is surprisingly pleasant, light and soft in texture. Especially if we consider the fact that a motorcycle jacket in the first place has a protective function. A pleasant surprise and at the same time a reason to use the Pacora ST very often. The internal climate management is on fleek: besides the removable thermal lining, there's also a mesh lining and the back protector pocket doubles as a sort of extra moisture transporting channel. Ten out of ten against unpleasant sweating. When moisture comes from the other side, in the form of precipitation, you can count on the integrated (non-removable) solto-TEX® membrane. With six (6!) ventilation openings, it should be possible to steer Pacora ST quite a distance southward without sacrificing comfort.
With sixteen sizes available, you don't need an endless number of customization options. The centered velcro strips on the flanks are always welcome on a motorcycle jacket with typical (longer) touring cut, and also on the sleeves (three times!) and at the waist (drawstring) you can vary enough.
Despite the already present individual adjustment possibilities, there's always room for improvement, IXS must have thought when they decided to create specific models. In both directions, because there is both a version that is 3 centimeters shorter and a version that is 5 centimeters longer. These differences in length are situated on the sleeves as well as on the torso, which of course results in an even better (dare we say 'perfect'?) fit.
With seven pockets on the outside and another four on the inside, there's enough storage space to definitely fall into the 'touring' category. All pockets can be closed nicely with zippers or velcro.
Impact protection is provided by (level 2, EN1621-1:2012) 'impacTec TP-02' shoulder and elbow protectors. The elbow protectors are adjustable in height. An impacTec TP-06 back protector (EN1621-2:2014, level 2) is a standard feature of a motorcycle jacket of this caliber. All protectors are relatively soft and flexible.
The reflective material seems to hide in the prints on the forearms and the zippers on the chest, but with reflective strips on the back and shoulders there's no shortage of reflection.
The long connecting zipper just about demands to be paired with the Puerto ST motorcycle pants.
