For the great price of a Shape ST, you get a 3-in-1 that is top of the line in terms of both versatility and overall comfort. Waterproof, pleasant and comfortable and - depending on your choice - both warm and fresh.
The (soft) Tactel® gives the Shape ST its look and feel, and its strikingly pleasant texture. Flat (harder) Hitena material on the knees create an abrasion-resistant shield, and if you add a bit of stretch to the back of the knee and on the seat and crotch, you get a very nice unit. And at the same time a certain guarantee of protection.
The outer layer of this 3-in-1 is what remains when temperatures soar. Two large ventilation openings on the thighs offer a solution in that case. Underneath is the removable (breathable but waterproof) Solto-TEX® membrane. The removable thermal lining is also available. Together, this results in a pair of motorbike pants that can actually be used all year round.
The waist is adjustable with a large strip of velcro left and right, although the elastic pieces should keep the need for large adjustments within limits. It's usually a good fit. Certainly literally, with an anti-slip strip and height-adjustable knee protectors. The total impact protection consists of (level 2, EN1621-1:2012) ‘impacTec TP-02’ knee protectors and the standard ‘impacTec ETP-03’ hip protectors (EN1621-1:2012, level 1).
Four pockets - including two cargo pockets - provide ample storage space and also give the Shape ST a look that is just a little less classic. At the bottom of the pant legs, zippers (and a velcro strip) make getting in and out of the pants a little easier. Even with motorcycle boots on your feet.
Reflective strips ensure improved visibility in less favorable conditions. The long connecting zipper keeps the (almost) complete IXS range within reach.
