The Shark Skwal and the Skwal 2 get a third family member with the Skwal 2.2. The three full-face helmets with innovative LED lighting have become tighter, better, sharper and more aggressive each time. On all fronts. In the Skwal 2.2 the interior in particular has been given more attention than in previous versions.
The unique rechargeable LED lighting system continues to attract attention from other traffic. The LED lighting is still integrated in the chin and top ventilation and at the back of the helmet. In the different models the LED lights are respectively white or green in color.
An electronic control module with integrated battery offers the possibility to let the led-lighting burn continuously during ± 5 hours, or to let it blink during ± 10 hours, by means of a micro switch under the neck rim. The battery can be connected to a power source such as a PC, Smart Phone charger or powerbank using the USB cable provided.
Despite all its electronic extras, the Skwal 2.2 still weighs only 1550 grams. The injected thermoplastic that serves as the raw material for the outer shell is responsible for a lot of that. The different helmet sizes all fit into one helmet shell.
Whereas the original Skwal looked a little like a motorcycle helmet with a few lights added, the Skwal 2 and Skwal 2.2 are much sharper as a whole. In this sharper design the brighter and larger LED lights are shown to their best advantage. The fact that the Skwal 2.2 is more aerodynamic also helps. The elaborate neckline and low-profile spoiler have been retained and are still striking. The combination of both is the result of a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) study and thus should provide optimal and stable response in riding conditions.
But, apart from that, the Shark Skwal 2.2 remains first and foremost a safe and fully functional motorcycle helmet. With everything that goes with it. A good and healthy internal airflow, to name one. The central chin ventilation, which you can easily operate with gloves, is essential. Top ventilation comes in the form of a single opening that you can easily close (even while on the road). At the back a spoiler with built-in opening guarantees that the wind also leaves the helmet. Follow the wind and you'll find the lights: each of these vents is flanked by two LED lights.
The Skwal 2.2 has a clear anti-scratch visor and a sun visor as standard. The sun visor is operated by means of a system integrated into the left hinge of the visor. To prevent fogging of the visor, a Pinlock® Max Vision is supplied in the box.
The removable, washable and hypoallergenic inner lining is easy to maintain. The inner shell is equipped to mount intercom speakers. Thanks to the Shark Easy fit system, this motorcycle helmet is also easy to use for glasses wearers. The motorcycle helmet has a length-adjustable, soft chin strap with a micrometric closure that can be adjusted very precisely. A well-designed neck rim reduces the risk of whiplash. The wind curtain chin and nose cap are not missing either.
The reflective stickers which are obligatory in France to stick on the helmet are included.
For maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. To clean the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.

Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from street lights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
