A softshell motorcycle hoodie with a water-resistant coating, that calls for a motorcycle, a big city, a commute and a pair of motorcycle jeans.
Alpinestars is Italian so the Domino Tech Hoodie is what Italians in Turin, Milan or Rome wear when the weather is just a little less Italian. This is how we picture it ourselves. This is a very pleasant and comfortable motorcycle jacket - safe, functional - that looks a bit different. A bit more 'city'. The exterior in softshell is not an obvious choice and shows that 'style' was also important for the designers. A water-repellent coating will get you a long way, although a real storm will probably be too much of a good thing. Think of Turin, Milan and Rome. The cut - longer than you're used to from a motorcycle jacket - also catches the eye and will especially appeal to owners of (large) scooters. And: if the jacket is long and the scooter design protects the lower legs, you will arrive at your destination with dry legs.
Inside, it's the mesh lining that draws all the attention. Rightly so, because with great breathability and a little help from the vents on the back, it provides a pleasant airflow and discharge of warm and moist air.
By the way: Alpinestars wouldn't be Alpinestars if they didn't use a technical softshell which has some protective qualities. Do not expect miracles of course. The basic impact protection comes from the (self-developed) Bio Lite shoulder and elbow protectors. If you want to go one step further, you can easily integrate a CE certified Nucleon Plasma back protector (level 2 certified) or Nucleon KR-CELLi back protector (level 1 certified).
The hoodie is really a hoodie with the Domino Tech - euh - Hoodie. Not removable in other words and yet another illustration that this is an urban motorcycle jacket. Not a record breaker on the track. The back is long (even a wet scooter seat is no problem) and the bottom of the
Domino Tech has a drawstring to tighten things up a bit.
Other adjustment options are not really available, although you can choose how wide you leave the velcro on the sleeve ends. The storage space comes in the form of two slash pockets, two chest pockets and one inner pocket. All of them are lockable.
Subtle reflective material creates visibility in less-than-optimal conditions.
