The Impeto motorcycle gloves are overtly sporty, sleek, leather motorcycle gloves from a manufacturer that didn't happen to earn its stripes on the race track.
This also means that not everything you see is what you get. Fortunately, the difference is always in your favor. It contains more technology than the first home computers, while the Impeto of DAINESE is considerably smaller. The ENIAC took up several classrooms, the magazine 'Popular Mechanics' predicted in 1947 that one day a computer would weigh 'only' 1500 kilos. All kidding aside, the goatskin leather that makes up 75% of this motorcycle glove is hardwearing, strong, supple and race worthy. In terms of certification and procedure, that sounds like this: approved for Cat. II-EN 13594-2015, level 1 standard.
Important, but at least as crucial, are the feeling at the handlebars, room to move, comfort. And that's when the remaining 25% of the Impeto motorcycle glove comes into play. In a word: elastane. Also called: elastic, soft inserts that are in the right place (thumb, cuff) to make the Impeto not only safe but also comfortable. Admittedly, the pre-shaped fingers help to counteract fatigue, just as the overall quality of the leather construction is an asset, especially since the leather is perforated in the right places.
The most visible impact protection consists of a double knuckle protection in polyurethane. This is a solid synthetic material, which is supplemented with softer padding and/or an extra layer of goatskin leather almost everywhere else (fingers, palm, mouse).
The half-length Impeto is a relatively thin motorcycle glove, without membranes or extra lining. Racing material in the purest sense of the word. You feel what you're wearing, and that's how it should be. The cuff extends to the wrist and can be tightened by means of the wide velcro strap. A thinner velcro strip just below the palm of the hand serves to keep everything neatly in place.
