The Corsa R leans very close to the Pista GP R motorcycle helmets worn by Rossi and co, which is translated into a price tag that is achievable. The list of features and characteristics, however, has remained virtually endless.
To be clear: the Pista GP R, but also this Corsa R, are top-quality helmets. No matter how you look at it, no matter what the requirements. A motorcycle helmet is in many areas a very personal choice to which you may (and even must) connect a number of objective, measurable characteristics. The Corsa R is the right choice.
Carbon and glass fiber are the light yet strong materials AGV uses in its helmet shell. Add to that a touch of Aramid and the "collarbone safe profile" and it’s clear that there is a lot of know-how in the outer shell alone. No less than four different helmet shell sizes cover all possible helmet sizes, so the focus is on "compact and light", with no more than 1400 grams on the scales. The helmet shell is one that clearly had to pass through a wind tunnel, with the transparent spoiler as the most striking (or not?) result.
Special to this is the fact that the spoiler 'releases' in a crash, to let the round - and thus safe - helmet shape have maximum effect.
The front of this full-face helmet has no less than five vents, each of which can be opened and closed. To open the double chin vents, use the lever on the inside of the chin guard. You'll find it at the bottom, front, where the wind curtain chin leaves a small opening to slide your finger through. It's great when you suddenly discover how ingeniously something has been put together. Keeping your head cool has rarely been this easy. At the back the wind leaves the helmet via two outlets.
Internal channels lead the incoming (riding) wind amongst others along the transparent visor, which stays as fog-free as possible. This visor - 190° horizontally and 85° vertically - has a field of vision that few other motorcycle helmets come close to. Anti-scratch, 5 mm thick, Pinlock®-prepared, with patented Microlock System and Micro-opening where you can guarantee a small slot at the front - a lot has been thought of. The 100% Max Vision Pinlock® lens is included, as well as a tear-off package. The patented Visor Lock system (VLS) reduces the risk of accidental opening in case of an accident.
No tools are needed to remove the visor, while the (metal) mechanism creates the perfect fit between visor and shell.
Inside there is also a lot to discover. Eyecatcher there is the reversible 'crown pad', the piece on top of the head. With a warm and a cool side - and of course the possibility to switch easily - you can create the best situation according to the circumstances. Antibacterial, with a focus on skin comfort, washable, removable, sweat absorbing ... all the 'normal' (we are used to a lot!) features of a top interior are present.
The neck rim - with a focus on water-resistance - and the special system to remove the cheek pads quickly and safely in an emergency are special AGV features that provide yet another patented feature in the list. And then we're actually where we started: the objective, measurable features, which in the case of the Costa R form a very impressive whole.
Closure is achieved - or what do you think? - by means of an adjustable, soft, well-finished Double-D ring.
Top helmet!
For the maintenance of this helmet we recommend S100 helmet and visor cleaner for the outside. For cleaning the interior, without removing it, you can use S100 helmet interior cleaner. New visors have received a water-repellent treatment. This treatment is less effective after some time. Restore the water-repellent effect with Rain-X anti-rain spray.
Safety above all! Never ride with a scratched or dull visor. Especially at night, scratches cause blinding reflections from streetlights and headlights of oncoming vehicles. This effect is even more pronounced in rainy weather. It is best to replace a scratched or dull visor as soon as possible. Planning a longer trip? Then don't forget to take a replacement visor with you. Never ride in the dark with a tinted visor.
