The CR-X Drystar is a visually sporty, sleek, ankle-high motorcycle shoe. Vintage Alpinestars, with a contemporary style and especially a striking focus on comfort. Comfort of course has different manifestations: dry feet, easy shifting, a good feeling, a springy gait ... But what if you could get all these things combined?
Alpinestars comes close with the CR-X Drystar. Somewhere between hiking shoe and motorcycle shoe: it feels good, it fits well, it is waterproof and you can walk a long way in them. When Alpinestars manufactures something, it always contains their knowledge and expertise from racing.
Construction, technology, know-how, they are present, also in the CR-X Drystar. Visually, you can perfectly place him in the "urban" category. Or make a very long sporty walk in them. The advanced construction of these motorcycle shoes includes fine textiles, seamlessly integrated into the outer layer which consists mainly of rubber. As a whole, this results in a well-ventilated, breathable, comfortable, but all in all still well-protective motorbike shoe.
A waterproof motorcycle shoe too - the Drystar® membrane ensures that.
The CR-X Drystar has a TPF sole plate over the entire length, that creates a solid base for further comfort. The rubber sole consists of two components, so letting your foot hang does not immediately lead to new shoes. A lightweight inner 'boot' provides a very pleasant 'like a glove' feeling. The Ortholite-technical inner sock only reinforces this.
All that comfort does come at a price. Not so much in money, but the CR-X Drystar has a less sturdy toe and heel than we’d usually expect from a motorcycle shoe – and certainly a motorcycle boot. On the other hand, you cannot step into a sturdy iron box and then walk around in it for a day. So choose, although you don't really have to lose here. It is rather a matter of emphasis. The CR-X Drystar has a bunch of elements on board that other motorcycle shoes do not have.
The lace with Quick Lacing system, the velcro, the very nice sole, the way it all fits and feels ... this is one of those motorcycle shoes we hoped to find.
