It’s evident that you stick this new Tank Pad Gripper onto your fuel tank. In this case, centrally – at groin level – possible supplemented with a set of extra Knee Pads Gripper on the sides. The purpose of this central ‘spine’ – mind the shape – is to protect against damage, stripes, a zip or anything that could cross your path (and your fuel tank).
The 3D material used (silicone) creates a 2.5mm-thick buffer between yourself and your fuel tank. The material Oxford uses here is actually everything-resistant. Oil, cleaning, dirt, the weather … You name it. You stick the Tank Pad Gripper – easy, 3M – centrally on your fuel tank, where you think you need it.
Fun little extra are the mini protectors (two round ones and two oval ones) also supplied in the package. Combining the (easily cuttable) tank pad and those four additional pads should in theory protect and cover any fuel tank sufficiently against harm.
You stick it once and one time is enough. Look before you leap (or stick) seems to be useful advice here. Once it’s on, it’s supposed to stay on in all circumstances, so starting to have doubts mid-process or changing your mind won’t deliver the best results.
There’s also a Tank Pad Gripper Adv with the same qualities in a different shape.
