The Wave D1 Air exists in a number of versions. They distinguish themselves from each other by number, and more importantly, by dimensions.
Composed from a three-part idea, with a base layer that aims to breath and ventilate, a middle layer that consists of a shock absorbing core, and an outer layer that aims to be strong and protective, the Wave is a very complete back protector. One that is also very well-constructed. The core has a honeycomb structure, but especially the outer layer looks striking, thanks to the real 'plates', as in the shield of an insect.
DAINESE has a name and a reputation in racing. They certainly live up to this reputation in the various Wave back protectors. The plates move in relation to each other and thus ensure optimal contact with the body. The hypoallergenic material and the adjustable and removable shoulder straps, together with the elastic band at the lower back, guarantee that you will not spend half an hour fiddling with the back protector to put it on.
It is clear that with this Wave, DAINESE offers a pair of high performance separate back protectors. The CE-certification (EN1621.2/2014 level 2) is logical.
