They're easy to forget, right? You're inside somewhere and your navigation device, smartphone, whatever, is still on the bike. Having a coffee, refuelling, shopping, there are many situations where you leave the bike for a moment or two.
It makes sense that you don't bother to lock the steering, switch on the alarm, or attach the disc brake lock just for ten seconds at the checkout. Not taking the navigation or phone off the RAM mount is less smart. And yet, many people do.
We don't have anything against charity, of course, but handing out free navigation devices or smartphones is taking it a bit far. This anti-theft rotary knob with key is made by RAM Mount. Replace the standard knob with this one and a potential thief can turn this know for as long as he wants. Without the key, the thread doesn't 'grab'.
This anti-theft knob only protects against the casual thief that thinks he can quickly run off with the navigation or smartphone. It isn't the equivalent of Fort Knox, but it is an extra barrier. An obstacle to slow down or discourage the casual thief. Just don't give them time to bring out the heavy tools.
