There is a range of optional accessories for this case:
- Inner bag: due to its complex construction, the Outback case is not guaranteed to be waterproof. The T506 waterproof inner bag is. An inner bag also ensures greater comfort. If you want to check in at a hotel, you don't have to take the entire case to the room. Simply remove the inner bag (with everything inside) from your suitcase and you're ready to go...
- Stainless steel thermal drinks bottle: real adventurers are sometimes thirsty too. With the holder E162 or E199 you can attach up to two thermal drinking bottles to the side of this Outback side case.
- Security lock: This case is already equipped with a security lock as standard. Got multiple cases? Replace all the locks on all the cases and lock them all with the same key.
- Reflective stickers: To make you more visible in the dark, a set of E145 reflective stickers is available. In vertical position, they fit perfectly on the flattened corners of these cases.
- Cargo bag: on top of this Outback Trekker, an additional cargo bag GRT714B, EA120 or XL01B can be attached with a set of tension straps S351.
- Plastic Jerrycan: a water, oil or petrol supply of 2.5l can be carried in the GIVI Jerrycan. With the E205 holder in inox, the Jerry can is easily attached to this Trekker side case.
- Luggage nets: use the space that the trunk lid inside has to offer. Mount a luggage net E144 in and store many small items. On top of this case, the luggage net T10N can be easily attached.
- A backpack: T521 with a capacity of 15 litres that can be stored in the top of the case.
- Extra handle: the Alaska is a sturdy case. The E188 handle makes moving this case a lot easier.
- A backpack: T521 with a capacity of 15 litre can be accommodated in the case lid.
- Trolley: with the trolley E206, your top case suddenly becomes easier to transport.
- Rubber strips: prevent scratches while using extra bags on top of your Alaskas with the self-adhesive E146 rubber protection strips.
- Interior lighting: the rechargeable LED lighting E198B with sensor comes in handy when looking for something in your case in the dark.
Maintenance tips: because this case is made of untreated aluminium, it requires a little more maintenance than a plastic case. For cleaning these cases we recommend S100 Moto Wash. NEVER use maintenance products that contain acids or other corrosive substances. Such products cause dark stains that are very difficult to remove.
Watertightness: the GIVI side cases and top cases are not waterproof. They were awarded an IPX4 rating. Having the right expectations always helps prevent disappointment.
This set of Monokey® side panniers sport a natural aluminium look. Their main advantage is that they fit on just about every conceivable tubular GIVI pannier rack such as PL__, PLR__, PLO__, PLOR__. And they also excel when it comes to value for money.
Like with every Monokey® pannier set, one key is all you need to open, close, lock or unlock, the left, top, or right case. GIVI also includes an additional lock cylinder that you can fit in your top case. So, even with a different top case, a single key will operate all the locks. Note: only one set of keys is supplied with this Alaska case set. Universal advice: don't lose them.
Each Alaska is made in Italy from high-quality aluminium. With a 36 litre capacity for each pannier, you'll be on your way with some hefty cases. You want these to stay firmly in place, both on and off the road.
For that, GIVI provides at least one 'feature' that may need some explanation. The HOLD IT EASY® SYSTEM - Patents pending - consists of an extra hook that prevents the case from unexpectedly falling off, after you open the lock. Apparently, there are also some disadvantages to a system that does all with one key. The hook keeps the case attached to the frame and you can even load and unload the contents that way.
This can be very useful when your bike is equipped with a large top case. Unlike the Dolomiti, the Alaska does not have a removable lid. The sturdy hinge of the Alaska sits at the back of the case. It doesn't require any ropes or safety straps, and also won't fall shut if you don't want it to.
With an ample capacity of 36 litre each, you can bring enough luggage for a lengthy journey. However, the dimensions do not allow a motorcycle helmet to be stored inside.
Besides the aluminium of the case and the stainless steel in the hinge, you will notice a third material: plastic, more specifically a reinforced technopolymer, providing plenty of lashing possibilities.
