The Portland Lady motorcycle shoes are classic boots. Or at least that's what they look like at first. There's something retro about them, a little nostalgia and nostalgia for times when everything was simple and straightforward. And yet there is also a full-fledged, contemporary motorcycle shoe underneath the cowhide leather.
They even lean towards motorcycle boots, with a shaft that seems relatively high, and then there’s the heel. Pay special attention to the heel. And pay attention to the shiny leather. That leather makes the Portland Lady water….-resistant. Leather and rain, it's a delicate balance and although you'll be able to withstand a bit of rain, we don't dare to set the expectations so high that we'd call the Portland 100% waterproof. Also because the ankle height will never be enough to keep out water completely.
’What you see is what you get', that's the logical expectation. Leather boots, a decent sole. Laces, no zippers. Getting on the bike with your army boots, something like that. With an anatomical formed and well-protected ankle area, an anatomical Ortholite footbed, the shifting reinforcement, the reinforced heel and the reinforced toe, this is no 'ordinary' army boot. No dr. Martens. They look a bit like that, but the Portland Lady is a safe motorcycle shoe.
It's a very complete ankle-high motor boot. One with a non-slip sole, but without a lot of fuss.
Admittedly, there are motorcycle boots which look more like a motorcycle boot. And there are normal shoes that look more like normal shoes. But the combination of both, where all characteristics of the two are preserved, that's a lot harder to achieve.
In the Portland Lady they’ve managed to do just that. Both on and off the bike these are top of the bill.
