You don’t have to be a stuntman to appreciate a good Segur neck brace; simply grasp the importance of your own safety and the natural movements your head can make in relation to the rest of your body will do to see the value in this accessory.
REV’IT! developed the Segur in cooperation with the renowned neck brace manufacturing company Moveo. The Segur fits the concept of the REV’IT! DIRT SERIES perfectly.
It’ll happen before you know it, our grandmother used to say. And she was often right about that. For that, the Segur is not open for discussion. If you are limited to dry asphalt, you can’t let fear ruin your ride but if you have true enduro, off-road and motocross ambitions, then you’ll find this to be a valuable companion.
The premise is to limit the force of the impact to your neck and to distribute what’s left over the rest of your body. Spine and neck are vulnerable and whiplash injury, strains and sprains, impact, a twist, a hit, whatever will happen before you know it in certain circumstances.
Hence; the Segur somewhat limits the rotational movement and leeway of your head in relation to your shoulders, improving on the distribution of the forces that impact your neck area. This can only be positive, we think, especially because the Segur is a lightweight that you can perfectly adjust to your liking.
Careful: this is what you should do: adjust. The Segur has exactly three screws to adjust the neck brace to size perfectly. We’d dare to call it dummy-proof but be sure to give this the right amount of attention. You wear a Segur neck brace correctly. Not ‘just about right’. When done right, it’s still comfortable.
The EVA padding and the adjustable chest straps make sure of that. The Segur rests on your shoulders below your helmet and doesn’t touch your motorcycle helmet. It’s easy enough to take off or put on and it gets easier every time: after you’ve familiarised yourself with the process, it’s a breeze, so don’t panic if this is your first time.
When you’re not wearing the Segur neck brace, you can neatly store it away in its own storage bag.
Some REV’IT! motorcycle jackets (listed below) are equipped with a literal link to the neck brace. In that case, you physically link the Segur to the motorcycle jacket. In any other case, you simply wear it on its own with the supplied ‘harness’ with chest strap. Then, the neck brace fits with any motorcycle jacket combination.
