Strictly speaking, these are MX pants. In other words, motocross clothing, although REV'IT! is setting the bar very high. They are abrasion-resistant, can be worn inside your boots, come in short and long sizes, and are cut in such a way that an extra knee brace is no problem at all.
In any case, there are few problems when you're on the road with these. These DIRT-SERIES motorbike pants go seamlessly (not literally!) with the REV'IT! Territory and/or the REV'IT! Sierra, which are also part of the same concept. Here, REV'IT! returns to the essence of "adventure" but takes it to the next level. The basic principle remains: bring your own. Do you need extras? Bring your own. No membranes, no layers, just a very sturdy outer shell.
It consists of Cordura 750D ripstop and PWR|Shell ripstop. That exceeds the standard. Generously. The knee and hip protectors that the Peninsula - optionally with DIRT-print - has on board are SEESMART™ level 1. Relatively soft and supple and more than sufficient for daily work. If you go one step further you can replace the standard impact protectors with your own separate knee brace. That's the idea. The Peninsula is designed to do just that, offering the space on your knee to do so, and it's also very easy to do.
This is a lightweight that exudes solidity. The soft, leather panels on the inner thighs provide extra grip when you're standing up to tackle the next obstacle. When you do sit down, the Suregrip seat cushion keeps you firmly in the saddle.
The Peninsula runs - once past the knee - pretty tight to the bottom: inside the motorcycle boots, as it should be. You don't have to get out of them right away. The Peninsula are biker pants designed for sweaty conditions and motorcyclists who - although it's fun - are working on their bikes. And in case of an emergency, you can simply unzip the two long ventilation zippers. On the thighs, at the front of the cargo pockets, you can't miss them. And no, the cargo pocket remains a cargo pocket even with the ventilation zipper open.
A fantastic micrometric closure (a perfect fit up to a few millimeters) and the - again - cleverly applied silicone on the inside of the waist: the Peninsula that fits well, sits well.
Top of the line pants.
