You expect a traditional motocross shirt, yet you get a much stronger exterior, without having to compromise on comfort and ease of use? Indeed: the Sierra from REV'IT! sets a new standard. With a bit of a manual.
The manual comes in handy anyway, because the Sierra is part of the DIRT SERIES from REV'IT! and this redefinition of 'adventure' takes a little getting used to. The premise is: back to basics, at absolute top level. And then they come up with an MX jersey that consists of PWR|SHELL ripstop stretch and Cordura mesh on the outside. In other words: a bit sturdier than we are used to from a MX-jersey. It's to say: it remains very comfortable, loose, easy ... but it is a lot more durable.
It’s still a motorcross jersey. There is no impact protection. Combine the Sierra with a stand-alone protector vest like the Proteus from REV'IT! When the need arises, you adapt yourself and your outfit. That's DIRT too. And that’s okay, because strictly speaking it's even easier. In the same philosophy, the Sierra isn't waterproof either: there's a Barrier rain jacket that has just that focus, so why 'burden' a good, solid, strong, hard-wearing and comfortable MX shirt with an extra membrane or layer? No, back to basics. At top level.
Also notable are the two elastic thumb loops: you wear them underneath your gloves and they prevent your sleeves from creeping up when you don't want them to. The sleeve ends themselves are elastic, without zippers or press studs.
A nice extra is the chest pocket, with a key ring.
Combine this Sierra with the REV'IT! Peninsula motorcycle pants, for maximum effect. Both in terms of content and style.
