In Italy, they know a thing or two about warm weather and big cities. Both come together in this 'urban' Airforce, and form an ankle-high motorbike shoe which is a pleasant place for your feet to stay in. Especially when temperatures rise.
In essence, the Airforce is all about ventilation and breathability. On the outside, perforated 3D-mesh is used in alternation with "Micro-Synth" suede, which means that the wind can enter the shoe without any problems. Beyond the already ventilated lining. This combination of ventilated materials results in a light motorcycle shoe, although we must add that no concessions have been made in terms of safety. Everything that should be there, is there.
Starting with the D3O® cup on the inside of the ankle. The toe, heel and outside of the ankle are not remarkably provided with protectors, but together they provide a sturdy whole in this Airforce. Sturdier than you might initially suspect. The stable, hard rubber anti-slip sole is undoubtedly also a big part of it.
With the Airforce, Gianni Falco delivers a true summery motorcycle shoe. One that – considering the paragraph on ventilation – is not waterproof. Again: this is a sneaker. An ankle-high motorcycle shoe for the city. You won't face a MotoGP in these. The ankle height of the Airforce is on the nippy side, by the way. Let's keep it to the lower half of the ankle, which is still perfectly acceptable.
You can make entry and exit as difficult or easy as you wish: laces are the way to go. The cutout at the Achilles’ tendon, with below that the triple but subtle reflection and the pull loop makes 'easy entry' not difficult at all. You can lead the laces to the top, and when you also use the fluorescent yellow lace hole, your position on the bike has to be quite extraordinary in order to hook into or around anything.
Comfortable, sufficiently solid and stylish motorbike shoes, the Airforce.
