The Quantum 2 H2O motorcycle jacket is a modified, more 'urban' variation on the Quantum theme, of which a number of examples adorn the now well-stocked family tree.
This Quantum 2 H2O is less 'race' and more 'urban' than the Quantum 2 Pro Air and that makes it even more wearable. The waterproof element and the hood - removable of course - also contribute to this. In contrast to its brothers who are more closely related to the race track, the Quantum 2 H2O is a textile jacket, no small difference.
The waterproof element comes from the hydratex® membrane integrated between the outer shell (600D polyester) and the mesh lining. The thermal lining opens the door to spring and autumn and then a lot is possible if you ask us. Visually, the design certainly retains a sense of speed and aggression, although the feel is obviously quite different from that of the leather REV'IT! Quantum 2 jacket. A deliberate choice, for a younger, urban audience with different expectations. So, this is where we part ways, to an extent. Or the branches of that family tree.
With the Quantum 2 H2O motorcycle jacket, you go to watch a motorcycle race, you don't participate. Something like that.
The Quantum 2 H2O motorcycle jacket is an everyday companion. Don't think: hump, leather, tight. Think: removable hood, zippered side pockets, thermal lining and a tad more room. The external elbow pads are gone, the TPU shoulder pads are still there. The rest of the impact protection is also excellent: SEESMART Level 1 CE protectors on the shoulders and elbows and those who wish can fit a SEESOFT CE-level 2 back protector. A step lower than the track, which of course is reflected in the lower price. To be clear: a step below the circuit level is still more than sufficient for home, garden and kitchen use on public roads.
The sleeve ends received a stripe of velcro, just like the adjustment options in the waist. For the collar and the adjustment option on the upper arms, REV'IT! chooses snaps. The cut of the Quantum 2 H2O is much more "textile" than that of its tighter, sharper leather brothers. Traditionally, the back is longer than the front, although it's clear that the inspiration comes from short race jackets and motorcycle suits.
Reflective material is also present. REV'IT is not a fan of "too much", and limits itself to a subtle element at the bottom of the back.
The long and short connection zippers, and the Belt Loop, allow you to pair the jacket with a pair of motorcycle jeans or textile REV'IT!
