Together with the Component 2 H2O jacket, these Component H20 motorcycle pants are the flagship product of REV'IT's new DIRT SERIES, which are all about adventure, but in the way adventure should be: the basics.
It translates into lightweight motorcycle clothing, comfortable and with a high level of contemporary protection, but at the same time 'limited' to the essentials. Strictly speaking, the presence of a thermal lining (removable and short up to the knee) is a concession. We forgive them. What is there, is top. Without a doubt. This Component H2O - both jacket and pants - is an extra addition because it's almost 100% waterproof, where earlier DIRT-SERIES motorbike clothing strived to be 'splash proof'.
The exterior is PWR|SHELL ripstop stretch, amply supplemented by 750D Cordura: hardwearing and able to withstand a tough ride. On the inside of the legs, REV'IT! opts for leather (monaco performance), and the seat has two grip patches for those times you actually stay in the saddle. Meanwhile, it's okay if it’s raining cats and dogs, because the laminated Component H2O motorcycle pants are waterproof. That's a certainty. The (laminated) hydratex® is responsible for the waterproof properties and there is very little to disagree with. No removable membrane, but there is an extra, removable thermal lining. We should mention that this stops above the knee. Reason? Knee brace option.
As standard, REV'IT! opts for flexible level 1 CE-certified SEESMART™ protectors on the knees. Once again, they leave you with a choice: the protection provided is good. However, if you have real knee-twisting, trial-type stuff in mind, you can remove them in a jiffy and opt for your own external protection or that knee brace, which doesn't get in the way of the thermal padding.
Above the knee, someone has been busy perforating: the climate control is perfect. Two ventilation zippers over almost the entire thigh offer assistance. Especially when it comes to those knee-twisting stunts, sweating can be a real concern. Although it won't be because of the pants. The construction of the ventilation zippers is such that waterproofness is not compromised, and although we say that in a single sentence, know that it entails a lot of know-how and knowledge.
Two cargo pockets, reflective details, a fantastic micrometric closure (up to a few millimeters of perfect fit) and the - again - cleverly applied silicone on the inside of the waist: the Component H2O that fits well, stays well. Full stop. High also, because the Component H2O can perfectly attach a pair of Strapper-suspenders.
The at first sight wide cut has everything to do with the conscious choice/preference to wear these motor pants above the motor boot. And above possible knee braces.
With that in mind, each leg is fitted with two press studs at the bottom to keep the fit good and tight. Although there is room in the Component H2O, there is no flapping water thingy. The bottom of these pants have much in common with what is common in snowboard clothing. That exceptionally good construction at the end consists of an extra 'dirt gator' - again an indication that you're wearing them above the motor boot - and is neatly finished with a silicon edge.
Phenomenal motorcycle pants, these.
