The third version of the Alpinestars SP-8 motorcycle glove has become a sporty, lightweight racing glove. All the usual recipes are there: lots of leather, a lot of comfort and a high dose of impact protection, in a pleasant little motorcycle glove.
Well,
little.
Certainly visually they seem - thanks to a modified line pattern - to reach a little further than the previous (second) version. The perforated leather areas that aid ventilation, those have remained, as has the overall feeling of lightness. The Alpinestars SP-8 motorcycle glove will keep you gripping that motorcycle handlebar tightly. Waterproof, of course, they are not.
The SP-8 V3 is still produced primarily in goatskin leather, with much attention paid to good grip and handlebar feedback. A stripe of stretch between palm and thumb further enhances that feeling.
On critical places, extra suede reinforcements are added, just like reinforcements on the thumb, wrist, back of hand, fingers and palm. In the latter case, the Arshield is even noticeably firmer.
The 'SP dual density' knuckle protector is a derivative that comes from racing and provides a sharp look. A (patented) finger bridge between the ring finger and the little finger, and a fingertip that makes it possible to work on a touch screen, are details that emphasize the high quality of the motorcycle glove.
Slightly pre-curved fingers and a new overall construction with fewer stitching add to the comfort of the Alpinestars SP-8 motorcycle gloves.
The cuff received a sturdy velcro closure that goes into or over the sleeve of your motorcycle jacket. Just above the cuff and under the thumb, you neatly close the motorcycle glove with a thinner velcro strip.
