The (laminated) SMX Z Drystar® motorcycle glove is a short, waterproof motorcycle glove with a sporty look and - despite that short cuff - a very wide range of uses.
Although the outer layer in full-grain goatskin received suede reinforcements at the little finger, it is the Drystar® membrane that gets the most important task: the waterproof and breathable Drystar® is Alpinestars technology and does not have to prove itself. The SMX Z Drystar® is also the laminated version with addition of the word "performance".
The advantage of laminated materials is that water remains on the outside, and does not penetrate the membrane through the outer fabric.
The goatskin leather, by the way, accounts for about a third of this motorcycle glove. In other words, the SMX Z motorcycle glove is a combination of textile and leather. Once again, there is that broad usability. The textile section also includes the stretch material.
The palm of the hand gets an extra layer of leather, for a better feeling of steering and good grip, and the same goes for almost all places which are more than usually at risk in case of a possible fall. On the palm of the hand this translates into extra padding, on the back of the hand this becomes a hard, abrasion-resistant knuckle protector with a visual carbon button.
Quick in and out, dry hands, easy to store and just plain comfortable, that's about the short summary of this motorcycle glove. Not everyone is a fan of short cut motorcycle gloves, but those who are, will find a pleasant travelling companion in the SMX Z Drystar®.
The fingertips are touch-sensitive. The cuff closes with a velco strip at the top.
