A light, price-conscious and yet waterproof textile motorcycle jacket for almost everyday use. That's what the 'adult' ALPINESTARS T-SPS Waterproof already was. And this Youth version is just as sporty in style and versatile in character.
The ALPINESTARS Youth T-SPS Waterproof jacket is technically sound, looks simpler than you might think, and for young riders (or pillion riders) it's a very handsome jacket!
As in the larger sizes, the chassis - the outer shell - consists of 600 Denier polyester. The attentive motorcyclist (and that's all of them) will notice: 600 D. This appears often in the first paragraphs of motorcycle jackets, and there's a very good reason for that. It is wear- and tear-resistant. A very good basis, and that's why Alpinestars also provides a layer of 600 Denier internally at the elbows and shoulders. Wear-resistant properties are rarely abundant, and in this case, it results in a very nice jacket. A light jacket too.
Light as in: easy to store, not annoying, without too many frills. Not as in: limited use. On the contrary, the Youth T-SPS Waterproof is waterproof, thanks to the integrated polyester membrane. Those who feel the cold on the road can quickly and easily go for the removable thermal lining. Ventilation is provided by two zippered vents under the armpits.
So far, the Youth version of the jacket runs parallel to the adult T-SPS version, and to the Stella edition. Indeed, this motorcycle jacket is part of a family. Its price is not too bad, and Alpinestars remains a big name. The Youth T-SPS Waterproof motorcycle jacket is here to stay!
There are not many individual customization options. Sporty is the way to go and except for the waist and sleeve ends (two times velcro) you don't really have to create much room for that. Tight in the sporty suit, that's what it should be. Two side pockets with zipper and a couple of inner pockets, that's quite enough.
Alpinestars' own Nucleon Flex Plus armor on shoulders and elbows provides a good dose of impact protection. Never excessive, but performing. Lightweight too. An optional Nucleon Level 1 and / or Nucleon Level 2 Back Protector can be integrated easily and quickly, just like you have the possibility to add chest protectors.
Reflective material on the upper arms - in the form of discrete stripes - is also available.
