Where do we start? A joke about Tec7 - without the -h at the end? At the waterproof Drystar® membrane? The fact that there are more hard protective components in this Tech 7 motorcycle boot than in the average motorcycle?
There is a lot to say about the Tech 7 Enduro Drystar®, and at the end of this text, half of it will still have to be discovered by you. That is how it goes with an impressive pair of motorcycle boots like this Tech 7.
This is about half a meter of top technology in boot form. That pretty much sums it up. Waterproof, very protective, yet comfortable and finished with the typical Alpinestars eye for detail. Somewhere between pure motocross and daily use, although the latter will probably not be just a quick trip to the bakery. These boots are a bit too specific for that. Perhaps.
The Tech 7 is the ideal partner for the demanding endurance rider, and a stable base for many adventures. It can get tough: the Tech 7 is a tough guy, with a whole series of TPU reinforcements on the outside. These are linked to each other by the cleverly designed hinge point on the inside of your leg. While you're admiring it, take a look at the texture above and below: grip on the bike comes in many shapes and sizes. The Tech 7 is a motorcycle boot that prioritizes interaction with and response from the bike.
Instead of going through the seemingly endless list of TPU and PU inserts, we'll summarize. These motorcycle boots have a high 'Terminator' content and seem indestructible. They are waterproof, breathable and surprisingly comfortable to wear. You won't want to go on long hikes in these, but you will want to go on long rides alternating between sitting, standing and occasionally dragging. And gladly even. Up to knee-high in mud and water, no problem.
The balance between comfort and protection - hard to find - is excellent. Alpinestars are no rookies of course and this Tech 7 is the result of tons of experience, coupled with recent technology and wonderful material choices.
That getting in and out of these just is a little bit harder than in or out of sandals, shouldn't surprise you. However, the velcro flap is excellent as a first buffer and saying anything else about the four buckles would be nonsense. Like virtually every other component in this motorcycle boot, you can replace the buckles if the need arises. It illustrates that the Tech 7 is made to be used. Lots, often and in demanding conditions.
This is an enduro boot as it should be: comfortable, but tough. A rugged shell with a great personality. And a soft footbed. Anatomically built and removable; that goes without saying.
